For quite some time now – closed eyes of my Genesis 9 figures looked bad!
See image above – somehow the eye only closed in the middle and to the right and most noticeably to the left they was still opened.
This looks pretty gruesome.
Today I finally went on a hunt to find out why this happened.
I installed DAZ 3d completely new and clean – and oh wonder – the eyes closed correctly. So it is not a fault of the Genesis 9 figure per se. Yeah!
Then the hunt started in earnest. I compared the log files – of creating a completely correct Genesis 9 figure – and one with crooked closed eyes.
They looked nearly identically except for a number…
“Resolving 49164 formulas”
The clean one had 30000 formulas less – whatever these are.
Anyway the number of formulas does not give any kind of clue what was happening.
I will not bore you about all my try outs. What it boils down to is I had a product installed called “The Age for Genesis 9” from the DAZ store.
The package obviously contains some morphs that are applied always and to each and every Genesis 9 figure – which causes the eyes to not completly shut.
Uninstalling the package got rid of the problem. Thank god it also got rid of the problem with all already created scenes – so I need not recreated everything where some character has closed eyes.
